Quarterly Scholarship

About the Scholarship:

Welcome to the Young Planet Leaders Quarterly $1,000 Scholarship Award offered by Young Planet Leaders. This scholarship is dedicated to recognizing and supporting students who are passionate about addressing climate change, promoting environmental sustainability, or dedicating themselves to another worthy cause. We believe in the power of individual commitment to make a positive impact on our planet, and we hope that this scholarship can be used to further existing projects or studies. 

Eligibility Criteria:

  1. Currently enrolled in a recognized higher educational institution and/or
  2. Working on a project/organization of your own related to environmentalism/sustainability/other important causes and/or
  3. Contributing significantly to one or more other projects or organizations related to sustainability/environmentalism/other important causes. 

Application Process:

1. Submit Personal Information:

  • Provide your full name, location, contact information, and date of birth.

2. Academic Information:

  • Share details about your current school or university, major (if applicable), GPA, and any academic achievements.
  •  If you aren’t attending college, include your current grade-level and school name. If you have been accepted to a college or university and plan on attending in the near future, include this information as well. 

3. Environmental and Sustainability Involvement:

  • List your involvement in activities related to environmental sustainability, climate action, or other important causes. This includes volunteer work, clubs, personal projects, and so on. 
  • If you have your own project or organization related to environmental sustainability, please outline your vision and progress. 
  • If you contribute to other projects or organizations related to environmental  sustainability or other important causes, please outline their missions, your roles, and any accomplishments thus far. 

 4. Statement of Purpose:

  • Craft a thoughtful essay (400-600 words) expressing your passion for environmental sustainability or another important cause, detailing how you would specifically use these funds if awarded, and outlining your future goals/what you hope to accomplish.

 5. Financial Need Statement:

  • If applicable, briefly describe any financial challenges you face in pursuing your education and/or achieving goals through your own project/organization or other projects/organizations you are involved with. 

Reward Details:

  • Amount: $1,000 USD
  • Frequency: The Young Planet Leaders Scholarship Award is awarded four times per year, on a quarterly basis. Individuals may apply more than once per year. 
  • Individuals may only be awarded one quarterly scholarship per year.

Selection Process:

Applications will be reviewed by our scholarship committee, considering academic achievements, extracurricular involvement, commitment to environmental causes, and financial need (if applicable). Successful applicants will generally be notified of the decision within one month of the application deadline.

Any information collected as part of the application process will be used solely for the purpose of evaluating scholarship applications and administering the scholarship program. Personal information will not be shared with third parties without the applicant’s consent, except as required by law.

The scholarship provider reserves the right to modify or cancel the scholarship program at any time, for any reason, without prior notice.

Governing Law: This scholarship program is governed by the laws of the United States of America. Any disputes arising from or relating to the scholarship program shall be resolved exclusively in the courts of the United States of America.
