Young Planet Leader Spotlight ✨
Julia Bae - Boston
Julia Bae, a recent graduate at The Winsor School, is a true force for climate action and community engagement in Boston. As a leader of Spring Forward Climate, she has educated countless elementary and middle school students through engaging workshops, even sharing her expertise at events like the North American Association of Environmental Education Conference and The Boston Globe’s “Climate Stewardship in Gen Alpha” Panel. Her commitment extends to policy and curriculum development, evident in her work with the MIT Climate Action Through Education (CATE)initiative, where she helped craft interdisciplinary climate curricula. Beyond these impressive roles, Julia actively advocates for climate justice, participating in rallies, engaging with state legislators, and testifying for crucial climate legislation at the Massachusetts State House. She will be attending Harvard University this fall. Julia’s multifaceted leadership, spanning environmental initiatives, academic pursuits, and numerous extracurriculars, truly embodies the spirit of a Young Planet Leader dedicated to creating a sustainable future for her community and beyond.

Community Spotlights
Paul Morijo
Paul Morijo is a Tanzanian environment and climate activist, and the founder of Loliondo Actions Green Earth, an organization that nurtures young people to love nature and be environmentally conscious from a young age. Through a project called One Student, One Tree, he has already planted 50,000 trees in different schools across Tanzania.
With this project, children and young people are instilled with the spirit of conservation. The mission is to create a community that prioritizes biodiversity conservation, restoration, and protection as its first responsibility.
“My dream is to have a responsible community when it comes to issues concerning conservation and climate change, and this is only possible through investing in young people– today’s and tomorrow’s leaders.”
Rahul Anand
Rahul Anand, 15, is a youth activist, aspiring aerospace engineer, and nonprofit founder from Montgomery, New Jersey. Deeply passionate about civic engagement and social justice, he was recently selected as the 2026 Youth and Government Chair for the New Jersey Robeson Assembly. Rahul is also working to establish the Montgomery chapter of the Nikhil Badlani Foundation’s Youth Advisory Board, a student-led initiative that promotes traffic safety, peer leadership, and real legislative change across the state. He has made his school eligible for a $10,000 donation through the BRAINS competition, which can be used to fund safety initiatives and improve road and vehicle transportation.
He is currently launching two student-driven nonprofit projects. One uses Hindustani classical music, which he has studied for nine years, to raise funds for New Jersey-based causes. The other, called STEMFlight NJ, brings drone-based STEM education to underserved school districts, beginning in Newark, Camden, and Salem. Rahul’s work reflects his commitment to youth empowerment, equity, and community impact.
