Six sessions. Eight weeks. Two cohorts. One global community.
The Changemaker Academy is our flagship learning season for young environmental leaders. Live and async tracks run side by side so leaders across the Americas, Europe, Africa and Asia can all take part on real time zones, then come together at two global summits.

Live sessions
Across an eight week season, alternating between cohorts.

Whole community together to tackle one shared challenge.

Funding routes
Top async projects get seed funding to keep building.
How a season actually runs.
- Live sessions01
Tuesdays, alternating cohorts
Each Tuesday serves one cohort live (7pm EST Americas, 12pm EST EU/AF/Asia), while the other engages asynchronously with the recording.
- Async tasks02
Build between sessions
The non live cohort completes a structured response activity that stacks into a cumulative project, eligible for funding routes.
- Global summits03
All cohorts, one room
On select Saturdays at 12pm EST, every cohort comes together to work on one shared environmental challenge.
- Topics each year04
Shaped by who is teaching
We curate themes annually around the leaders and experts joining us, so the curriculum tracks what is actually moving in the field.
Topics change each year based on the experts and practitioners joining us from around the world. Confirmed dates and speakers are sent to registered participants by email.
What graduates say.
I had a great time at the academy, especially the time in the breakout rooms, in which I got to experience global cooperation on a smaller scale but still powerful. The projects and the speakers chosen were just perfect for me to explore.
For me, my favorite part of this program was that I could share my ideas, thoughts, and culture with other people around the world, which was super special and will stay with me forever.
I have really enjoyed my experience in the program. I really appreciate the variety of topics, guest speakers, and the weekly structure. It was enough to gain high quality knowledge whilst not being overwhelmed with additional work.
The lessons and experiences I gained during the sessions were a big reason I got here today. YPL Academy lessons helped me secure selection for Bangladesh's University Innovation Hubs Program, a prestigious World Bank funded initiative.
Before the Academy, I knew I wanted to build something helpful, but I didn't fully understand how to turn that into action. Working through the sessions made me more confident and, honestly, more excited to keep creating impact long after the program ends.
Free to participate. Always.
We cover the program, the speakers, the platform, and seed funding routes for the strongest async projects.
